SEND ANOTHER COFFIN, F. G. Presnell, 1st in DJ
New York: William Morrow and Company, 1939. Cloth in dust jacket. First edition. A street-smart lawyer is determined to prove that a corrupt political boss murdered his mistress—whom the lawyer loved years before. Medium-to-hardboiled mystery, which could have come from the pages of Black Mask, was made into a fine 1940 film titled Slightly Honorable. Condition: Near Fine in Near Fine, Brodart-protected jacket. Aside from a thumbnail-sized smudge on the front cover, the book is clean, tight and glossy with some light dust soiling to text block’s top edge. Jacket has some unobtrusive spotting near top of front-cover panel but otherwise is nice and clean. Overall a well above average copy of a book highly coveted by knowledgable devotees of Golden Age mystery fiction.
