Howard Bloomfield in 1940 relinquished the editorship of Adventure to Kenneth S. White—who, in addition to steering Popular Publications’ top crime pulps Black Mask and Dime Detective, was the son of Trumbull White, editor of Adventure when it was founded in 1910! Ken White edited the magazine until 1948 and kept it faithful to the original concept even while introducing a host of younger writers to the roster. This representative issue from World War II boasts an actionful cover by Maurice Bower. Condition: Very Fine Minus. Covers are spotlessly clean and have retained full gloss. Spine is complete and bright white. No chips or tears to cover overhangs. Text block is tanned but supple. A way above-average copy from this period.
