DIME DETECTIVE, December 1935

Excellent peak-period issue of this outstanding crime pulp, arguably the most influential of its type after Black Mask. A great assortment of fiction that includes Cornell Woolrich’s “Dead on Her Feet” and Fred MacIsaac’s “Murder on the Mississippi,” the latter being one of his “Rambler” yarns and one of several Dime Detective stories made into a movie (1937’s Mysterious Crossing). Cover by Walter Baumhofer. Condition: Very Good, if you’re being strict, Very Good Minus. Front and back covers are complete with no tears but pretty heavily soiled and stained covers (especially the back). Spine is complete but some soiling. Small piece of reinforcing Scotch tape on inside front-cover edge. Text block has some light foxing (especially to first page) and is lightly yellowed but supple. Still a good collectable copy of a magazine that would easily set you back several hundred dollars in high grade.
