THE MOON POOL, A. Merritt, Liveright edition, 1st in jacket
New York: Liveright Publishing Corporation, circa 1934. Cloth in dust jacket. 1st edition thus. Merritt’s first book combines his novelette “The Moon Pool” with its novel-length sequel, “Conquest of the Moon Pool.” Both were originally printed in the Munsey pulp All-Story Weekly. The Liveright edition uses the same plates from the 1919 Putnam first edition. Condition: About Fine in Very Good Plus to Near Fine jacket. Book is slightly bumped on top right corner of front cover, otherwise an incredibly clean and tight copy in glossy black buckram. Jacket has lightly discolored spine panel, small closed tear on front cover’s spine hinge, and small abrasion on back-cover panel. Overall a lovely copy.
