THE PATHLESS TRAIL, first edition, classic pulp adventure

New York: Harper & Brothers, 1922. Hardcover with pictorial cloth boards. First edition, identifiable as such by the “B-W” letter code on the copyright page, indicating the February 1922 first printing. A matchless classic of pulp fiction, originally serialized in Adventure magazine and featuring three intrepid explorers searching the South American jungle for a missing American millionaire. Condition: Good only. It’s a structurally sound copy; the hinges are strong and the pages tightly bound. But it’s obviously been well handled in the exactly one hundred years since being printed. Bumping and fraying to edges and corners of the cloth boards. Several small stains on back cover. Previous owner’s signature in pencil on front free end paper. Still, this is a rare book in its first edition.
