THE DOOR BETWEEN, Ellery Queen, Triangle 1st edition, high grade

This classic Ellery Queen whodunit (adapted for the 1940 film Ellery Queen, Master Detective), originally published in 1937 by Stokes, was reprinted by Triangle Books in a bargain-priced edition sold in department stores. It went through multiple printings, but this copy is from the April 1941 first printing and use the original’s plates and dust-jacket design. The jacket’s inside flap has a 39-cents price sticker. One of Queen’s most baffling mysteries. Condition: Fine in Fine jacket. These cheap editions, printed on pulp paper, are rarely found in high grade, but this copy is unusually sweet. Triangle paper tends to be brown and brittle, but this book’s text block is only slightly yellowed and is quite supple. The red edge stain is unusually vivid. All in all, a tremendous copy we’re selling for a fraction of what the 1937 edition in similar condition would go for.
