LADIES OF CHANCE, pseudo-sleaze crime novel, pb

Novel Library 27, 1949. First printing. Originally published in a 1936 hardcover edition, this yarn was actually written by Davis Dresser, who as Brett Halliday later created private eye Mike Shayne and became phenomenally successful. No doubt he wasn’t thrilled about Novel Library revisiting one of his early literary sins. The story is based in Florida, like most of the Shayne mysteries. Condition: Very Good Plus. The bottom edge is a little scuffed and the text block is lightly yellowed.
