ELLERY QUEEN’S MYSTERY MAGAZINE, all six 1945 issues

The complete 1945 run of six bi-monthly issues, featuring the best in old and new mystery fiction. The January issue alone features Dashiell Hammett, Agatha Christie, Margery Allingham, Edgar Wallace, and Anthony Boucher, among others. Other issues sport yarns by John Dickson Carr, Cornell Woolrich, Anthony Berkeley, T. S. Stribling, James M. Cain, Ben Hecht, Damon Runyon, Stuart Palmer, Dorothy L. Sayers, Eric Ambler, Q. Patrick, Jacques Futrelle—and even mainstream author Michael Arlen with his famous story “Gay Falcon,” which inspired a hugely popular series of “B”-movie mysteries in the ’40s. Condition: Average Fine, with a couple Very Fine. Very light handling wear. Please notice, though, that all six have the issue number written somewhere in pen by a previous owner. Four of the six issues have white paper, the others are creamy to very lightly yellowed. A terrific digest lot.
