DURANDAL, Harold Lamb, historical adventure from the pulps, 1st edition

Garden City, New York: Doubleday Doran, 1931. Cloth, no jacket. First edition (stated). Harold Lamb write prolifically about the Crusades, and this novel—cobbled together from three novelettes published in 1927 issues of Adventure magazine—is about a crusader who finds himself amidst the savage horde of Genghis Khan. It’s Lamb at his best. Condition: About Fine. Previous owner’s bookplate on inside front pastedown, otherwise extremely sharp. And this is a fairly rare book, too: at this writing there seems to be only one other copy available on line, and it’s priced a helluva lot higher than this one!
