DETECTIVE TALES, October 1942, high grade, DeSoto cover

Popular Publications’ detective pulps during the early ’40s were unusually good, boasting all-star writer lineups and excellent covers. This one is particularly good, with stories by Frederick C. Davis, D. L. Champion, John K. Butler, G. T. Fleming-Roberts, Murray Leinster, Wyatt Blassingame, Robert Turner, Don James—top-notchers all. Cover by Rafael De Soto. A terrific wartime issue. Condition: But for the slight fraying to the front cover’s top overhang, this would easily grade Very Fine. Clean, tight, bright, obviously stored carefully. Possibly unread. For the condition-conscious collector.
