BLACK MASK, January 1942

Average issue of this classic crime pulp from the early years in its tenure as a Popular Publications title. Features outstanding novelettes with two reader favorites, Robert Reeves’ Cellini Smith and D. L. Champion’s Rex Sackler. Cover by Milton Luros. Condition: Very Good. Exposed to water, resulting in damp stains evident on and inside covers, although its effect on the text block is limited to the first couple and last couple of pages. Chip out of front cover’s right edge (see scan), also considerable wear to overhangs. It will suffice as a hole-filler to those compiling a run, but I’m considering it a reading copy and pricing it accordingly.
