In the late ’80s pulp fan and historian Robert Weinberg edited a series of detective-pulp reprints for Otto Penzler’s Mysterious Press. Most stories came from Dime Detective or Black Mask, with some from Detective Fiction Weekly. While lovingly assembled, they failed to find an audience: the pulp-fiction renaissance was still years off in the future. Nonetheless, these trade paperbacks belong in every library of mystery and detective fiction. And they’re still avidly collected. Condition of this one: Small price stickers on front and back covers, otherwise As New, unread copy.
