THE SHADOW, January 1, 1938

The first 1938 issue is a pip, with a novel-length Shadow adventure, “The Crystal Buddha” (by Walter B. Gibson writing as Maxwell Grant), as well as short stories featuring The Whisperer and Danny Garrett, two of the magazine’s most popular recurring characters in this period. Edd Cartier supplies illos for the Shadow yarn; some of them are outstanding and have been reprinted numerous times over the years. Condition: Very Good.  The overhangs have been carefully trimmed, and there’s an almost unnoticeable piece of tape on the spine head wrapping around to back cover, which also has a store stamp. Text block is lightly yellowed but supple.

PRICE INCLUDES SHIPPING AND HANDLING TO DOMESTIC BUYERS. NO INTERNATIONAL SALES.
