MASKED RIDER WESTERN, January 1944, scarce issue

This long-running Thrilling Group pulp survived the wartime paper shortages, but some mid-Forties issues are seen less frequently than others, and this is one of them. The Masked Rider novel, “The Devil’s Range,” is written by Donald Bayne Hobart. Condition: About Fine. Front cover has stress crack emanating from spine just both “Jan.” Spine is complete and bright. Back cover has small closed tear on top edge but otherwise is nice and clean. Text block is creamy and supple. The paper-rationed wartime issues of Thrilling pulps, carrying 80 to 96 pages, are often found bowed, but this one is perfectly flat. It’s a superior example from this time period.
