JUNGLE STORIES, Spring 1944

A very nice wartime sample of this popular Fiction House title, with the near-obligatory GGA cover (painted, as most of them were, by George Gross). Issues of Jungle are fairly uniform, beginning with the lead story in which Ki-Gor the Jungle Lord and his luscious lady Helene encounter a lost civilization ruled by an evil white queen. But the illustrations are well done and the back-up stories are occasionally better than good. Condition: But for a quarter-inch chip out of the spine heel this would grade Fine or thereabouts. The covers are clean with minor edge wear; the spine is brightly colored; and the text block is lightly yellowed but supple. Overall this makes a fine representative sample of Jungle.
