BLUE BOOK, June 1927, Agatha Christie “Hercule Poirot” yarn

In addition to Arthur Hawthorne Carhart’s novel of oil-field intrigue, “Black Treasure,” this issue features a good assortment of Blue Book favorites, including one of Clarence Herbert New’s “Free Lances in Diplomacy” tales and one of Lemuel De Bra’s many crime stories set in San Francisco’s Chinatown. But what makes the issue collectable is the first American appearance of Agatha Christie’s “The Radium Thieves,” an Hercule Poirot mystery. Condition: Fine, with very major edge wear. Clean, tight, good cover gloss. Complete spine. Text block is off-white to very lightly yellowed and quite supple. An outstanding copy from a period in which high-grade copies rarely surface.
